Many business owners and entrepreneurs today don’t understand the essence of what it is that makes their ideas amazing. They lack both a narrative and deeper meaning to their business. They obsess over the most visible components of their brand but ignore character and core values. Without these things, they will never reach the market appeal and penetration their products and services are capable of.
I help current and prospective business owners to craft valuable identities and tell their stories to the world. From day one until long into the future, these strategies will continue to maximize your impact on the market. A comprehensive brand identity will save you countless missteps along the path to success. It can be the linchpin to marketplace dominance.
Any business or independent entrepreneur has the potential to stand out distinctly from their competition. If you personalize your approach, you can eliminate the side-by-side comparison buyers intuitively make with other businesses in your industry, and occupy a category all your own.
Prepare to be asked difficult questions and discover real answers about who you are and what you are trying to accomplish in the world. Prepare to innovate unique solutions for your customers’ biggest problems. Prepare to show off the personality and philosophical values that will separate you from the crowd.

I’m often accused of portraying the entrepreneurial process as too simple, perhaps even too good to be true. By that point in the conversation, they already know every relevant bit of economic theory they need to understand logically how and why the mechanisms of entrepreneurship work. They can analyze clearly the entrepreneurial actions of other people and see why they were successful or not. But still, they more often than not hesitate to begin aligning their own choices with what they know is true, and it gets harder the older they get and the more accustomed to thinking bureaucratically and following orders that they become. That’s why it’s vitally important to introduce the virtues and benefits of entrepreneurial thinking to people everywhere as young as possible, before non- or anti-entrepreneurial cultures have much of a chance to take hold, crippling capable thinkers for life.
Proper entrepreneurial education, though vital, isn’t enough. Confidence, being an emotional concept, cannot be transferred to someone by merely saying the right words that give them information they may have been lacking before. It is developed through repetitive successful action, like muscle memory. In that sense, we might categorize confidence as a skill.
Does it make sense, in any complex endeavor, to begin only with the ideal outcome in mind and overlook any opportunities that do not seem to immediately grant it? There are always intermediary steps between what makes sense for us to do now and what we think we would eventually like to be able to do. But cultural inhibitions often prevent us from seeing and considering those intermediary steps and instead only focusing on the successful outcomes that survive the trials of development.
It is ironic that people at opposite ends of the professional spectrum can suffer from the same disease of a stilted and non-entrepreneurial mentality. The person who has never had ample opportunity to be productively employed will likely view money as a scarce and unobtainable thing that it is not their lot in life to be blessed with. Appropriately, they will not look for opportunities to generate it. They probably do not even see that they have skills that can be monetized because they never use those skills to make money.
At the other extreme, the person who has consistently made money but only through manufactured roles created by an entrepreneurial employer knows that they have valuable skills. Still, they have come to rely on a convoluted social hierarchy to participate with their skills in the economy as they understand it. That’s why there is such panic when they lose their jobs. They only see the monetizability of their skills within a corporate framework where they will be made to follow orders and perform a narrow range of tasks that complement the similarly narrow ranges of tasks performed by their coworkers. They do not see the skills themselves as the source of the wealth they generate—only the mandates passed down from above about how to apply them.

The goal of mentorship is to circumvent the same mistakes the mentor has already made in the pursuit of their own personal development – except to the extent that those mistakes would teach the mentee something of value. The outcome is that those who are in a position to learn are spared wasted time, energy, and suffering that otherwise would have been expended in the pursuit of their own development. They get where they are going faster, and they ascend to higher peaks of their own identities as a result of the tools and beneficial influence bestowed by the mentor.
A mentor or guide does not merely help someone get their life onto the track they think it ought to be on. They encourage them to consider if the road itself is the one they want to take at all. They help the student determine where they are, where they ought to be going, and how they might best arrive there.
A mentor works first on developing an individual's emotional capacity, which in turn opens them up to a wider range of experiences and the wisdom that will come from them. A mentor prepares others for the weight of deeper understanding, but they do not magically bestow this understanding. Those who lack emotional maturity will not know how to integrate their experiences, derive meaningful lessons from them, and change their lives accordingly. The mentor helps them become a version of themselves that will go on to accomplish with ease for all their remaining life experiences.
The goal of the mentor is to obsolete themselves and render their own services superfluous as the student grows capable of filling this function in their own life.
I specialize in mentoring people to overcome the blindspots and limitations of their cultural conditioning. Cultural conditioning is the set of circumstances that forms your unconscious expectations about how the world works and how you ought to act within it. Those who think they have no cultural conditioning are the most conditioned of all because they are blind to how they have been shaped to perceive and behave.
My mentorship is about making the unconscious within individuals conscious so that they can make rational choices about what lessons to derive from their experiences – what behaviors and values to hold onto because they actually serve a purpose in authentic self-expression and personal development.
