About
Hi. I’m Malcolm Barlow.
Living in Spain during the last decade, I have taught English in business schools, universities and multinational companies. Just as valuable to me is world class coaching I have received for twenty years. This gift awakened me to my true calling. As a result, I did my NLP Practitioner (2015) certification with Richard Bandler (Co-creator of NLP). Using these skills conversationally led me to start my own coaching practice. Alongside clients, my business English students have found it very useful. To take myself to the next level of coaching, I trained with Fiona Campbell with whom I attained my NLP Business Master Practitioner (2021) and NLP Business Coach (2022) certifications.
What is Neuro-Lingusitic Programming (NLP)? It is the use of simple language and transformational techniques. When used in the best way with clients, the impact is positively profound. These techniques produce benefits for my clients ranging from:
- Creating clarity for all stakeholders while increasing their motivation.
- Employees coming to superiors with solutions not just the problem, and therefore preforming better with greater confidence.
- To employees feeling truly valued, and as a result giving management more as they grow professionally – aided by their leader’s knowledge and experiences.
Now, with two recent clients, let me illustrate to you what NLP Coaching can do.
Client A had to collaborate with a counterpart whose actions went against their values. Another department had arranged this collaboration. Desiring a solution, NLP coaching facilitated a change in emotions from furious to calm. From there, a full picture of the situation was elicited. In knowing that, a well-formed outcome, which matched their values, was established. The department was happy with action plan. Additionally, Client A’s employees are now gaining valuable experience in a profitable service new to them.
Client B had an experienced employee looking for a pay rise. They believed this employee should be a project manager by now and was disappointed by their avoidance of training up junior employees. Via NLP training, Client B realised this person did not have the behaviours of a project manager. Then using NLP questions and the GROW model a plan where this employee had to submit a written proposal to train up junior employees in exchange for a pay rise was created. To date, they are sticking to their commitment.
